William Grant & Sons is an internationally renowned, family-owned drinks company, specialising in spirit brands, the flagship of which is Glenfiddich Special Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
In autumn 1886, William Grant and his nine children built their first distillery at Glenfiddich (meaning 'the Valley of the Deer') near Dufftown in the Scottish Highlands, having invested ?120 in Scotch whisky stills and a mash tun. On Christmas Day in 1887 the first Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky ran from its stills.
Today, the Company and The Glenfiddich Distillery are still owned and managed by the fifth generation of William Grant's direct descendants - one of the very few Scotch whisky distillers that remains independently owned. |
